A complete renovation of a 1940s building in Carate Urio, on Lake Como, originally used as a sports club and converted into an elegant private residence. The project involved the functional conversion of the property, the enhancement of the full-height spaces and the redevelopment of the outdoor areas.
The building, laid out over a single level with high ceilings, has been transformed into a home whilst retaining the full-height living room, creating a striking and light-filled space furnished with contemporary design pieces.
Part of the attic, formerly used as a storage area for equipment, has been converted into a new room accessible from the living room via a bespoke iron staircase.
A sauna has been created in the garden from an existing outbuilding. The following have also been installed:
The project has enhanced the property, integrating it into the landscape of Lake Como.
